Today was a day not spent on the road, but we actually took the metro of Sao Paulo. This is quite new metro system, so nice to use, not like the London Underground. Destination was the old centro for a wander. There was a cathederal and the buildings older than around Paulista, also a bit more grubby. This was a commercial area with lots of shops.
We headed to the Banco Santander tower- unortunately you need ID to go up so I sat downstairs while the others checked it out. The rain began to pour outside- the poncho was not enough so I got a 10 real umbrealla- which did the trick.
There is a lot of cool street art in Sao Paulo- here is an example below.
Next destination was the central food market. It is actually quite clean and expensive- more like a kind of Harrods food market. They want the equivalent of 6 GBP for a guava which is rather expensive to say the least. We had a wander sampling the freebies before heading upstairs to Brazilian sandwich bar. This was an awesome experience- I can't believe nobody has tried this set up in London. Huge sandwiches as below with plenty of beer.
Later in the afternoon we headed to get a coffee, before Alexander's birthday party in the evening.

Beer, or Chopp which is kind of a flat beer, is refilled automatically and they strike your card. So me and my dad where lapping it up drinking heavily.

Your blog is very cool, it has good pics and an elegante text! It seems you really liked São Paulo... I must to say I love this city, too... Hope you'll come back soon, because there are still plenty of things to know in this town. See you around...
